After spending two years apart from boyfriend Austin Spitler, Brittany Jones decided to welcome him back in style.

With the help of her friends and family, she organised a dancing flash mob to welcome him home from a church mission, which she ended with a marriage proposal.

The gathered crowd broke into a performance of Bruno Mars' 'Marry You' before Brittany got down on one knee at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma on Monday.

Popping the question, Brittany said: “I’ve waited two long years for you. I’d wait an eternity to have you as my husband. Will you marry me?”

Her stunned boyfriend said yes, but - in a surprise twist - pulled out an engagement ring from his bag and proposed right back.

“I love you. Will you marry me?” he asked.

A double yes made for one very happy couple - and the whole event was caught on camera by local TV station KFOR.

“Oh my gosh, this is the greatest day of my life,” Austin said.

“I wanted to see his face. I wanted to see him. I haven’t seen him for two years so it’s still very very exciting,” Brittany added.

Brittany's friends J.D. Bynum and Nina Williamson choreographed the moves, fitting in rehearsals over the last three weeks.

“Oh man! I’m so glad that we got to share in this,” Bynum said.

The couple plan to get married next month in San Diego.
