Two Georgian MPs came to blows and threw punches during a political debate live on national television.

Koba Davitashvil from the Georgian Dream Party and Sergo Ratiani from the United National Movement party came to blows during a discussion on the Maestro TV channel.

Both figures traded insults with Davitashvili threatening to cut off Ratiani's "snake head."

Despite the program anchor trying to cool things down between the pair, Ratiani smashed a glass of water on the table, leading to the politicians throwing punches at each other.

The studio staff quickly stepped in to restrain the men and escorted them off the set. The broadcast was taken off the air soon after.
