Want to see just what being the First Choice Slide Tester is all about?

We’ve got an exclusive look at some of the auditions that took place at Glasgow and Blackpool for this wild’n’wet career - travelling around SplashWorld resorts making sure that their water slides are up to scratch.

Fun junkie Tommy Lynch was in the role for four years and called it “the best job in the world”.

Tommy, 33, added: “It can be tough when it’s chilly and you have to strip off, but otherwise it’s great.

“Getting to check out the flumes is by far the best bit. But there is a serious side and it carries a lot of responsibility.”

Tommy, from Liverpool, who hung up his trunks in at the end of last year to take a new job, hurled himself down slides about 5,000 times during his stint.

And he clocked up 108,000 miles travelling between the 20 resorts in countries such as Turkey and Egypt.

Have a look at these auditions, all using a waterproof webcam strapped to the head, by applicants in search of a six month job with the holiday company.

There’s a £10,000 salary on offer and a seven-night holiday at an all-inclusive resort at the end of it.

Plenty of travel is guaranteed - there are 22 resorts to test out across the Mediterranean, Turkey and Egypt’s Red Sea and you’ll report back on how good they are - and come up with new ideas for holidaymakers.

There’s still time to apply for the job on www.firstchoice.co.uk/slidetester - you’ll need a 30 second pitch on video - and judging by some of the job hunters here, a fine set of vocal chords, since screaming seems to be a job requirement.

The best five applicants will battle it out at a waterpark in April before the slide tester is finally chosen. Applications close on February 28.
